This Alfred Dunhill watch arrived at our Peterborough branch in pieces. It had been modified with a 24 carat bracelet. The watch had been dropped an the back had come off. As you can see from the inside the ETA movement was in poor condition. There was evidence the watch had not been sealed correctly and a battery at some point had corroded.
We initially tried to get the watch running with a battery (maybe a bit too optimistic) and it did not start. So it was on to the Service. Any money paid for a battery is always deducted form the Service price if the watch is in guarantee.
We performed a Service and replaced all the damaged and old parts. The case and case back were cleaned and a new gasket was fitted to ensure the watch was sealed correctly and protected.
This work was complete in less than a week and the customer now has a new 18 month guarantee.
