A ladies gold 1500L Gucci watch in for repair. This watch was originally sent in by a customer asking for a new battery to be fitted. The watch was sent in after the customer spoke to a technician over the phone.
A quick assessment highlighted that this watch needed a bit more than a battery. The watch had quite severe water damage that had ruined the movement. We spoke to the customer and they were advised the work required as well as the cost. They were happy to proceed. 9/10 times a quartz watch has water damage the movement has to be replaced. This was the case in this instance. We also needed to thoroughly clean and remove rust from the inside of the case unit.
Once the new movement was fitted it was important to seal the watch again to help prevent the same issue reoccurring.
All repairs complete the watch was cleaned externally and put on to time test to ensure it was working to a satisfactory level. The watch passed with flying colours and was sent back to the customer with an 18 month guarantee.
