Rolex watches stripped down and prepared for customisation. Rolex 126200, 178240, 116000.

These Rolex watches arrived at the workshop to be taken apart ready for customisation. The customer wanted all of them plated in various colours and different materials. The watches were all brand new although they were different styles, 2 were Oyster Perpetual Datejust’s and 1 was an Oyster Perpetual.

Watch Hub’s job was to take the externals apart completely so they can be sent to specialist plating companies ready, they are going to different companies for this procedure. Once complete they are to be put back together and tested.

The process is time consuming as we have to ensure we keep the watches in pristine condition ready for the plating process to begin. Once complete the watches will have a unique look and design as well as be more durable thanks to the plating process adding an extra layer of protection and being scratch resistant. The parts are sent to specialist plating companies for this process to be complete.

As you can see the results are stunning and completely unique. The protective plating gives each watch a brand new look as well as adding an extra layer of protection for the day to day wear of being on the wrist. There are no other watches like this out there and the watches are now unique to their customer. The plating process is completed in a laboratory and finished by professionals who work to plate lots of different products.
