Raymond Weil is a well known Swiss watch brand but unlike some Swiss watch brands Raymond Weil does not have have a long brand heritage. Raymond Weil was born in Geneva in 1926 but it wasnt until 1976 that the brand was founded. Although the brand arrived late Raymond Weil himself was somewhat ahead of the curve and always had a role within the watch industry, working for Camy Watch Company from 1949 he became the brands General Manager and remained with the brand for 27 years.

Raymond Weil watches arrived on the scene during the Quartz crisis, which at the time had a lot of other Swiss houses worrying about the future and indeed caused a lot to close their doors for good. Raymond Weil took a totally unique approach and decided to mix Swiss quality with Quartz technology and coined the term “entry level luxury watch” and it worked. The unique approach seemed to be breakthrough at a time when others were struggling to decide if they stick to their guns or jump on the band wagon. Raymond Weil managed to bridge the gap and appealed to both seasoned collectors as well as new buyers. To this day Raymond Weil are accredited to helping save the Swiss watch industry.

Raymond Weil remains to be one of the only independent watch houses and are still family run. They still offer Swiss made watches at tan affordable price.

It was in 1982 when Raymond Weil’s son in law Olivier Bernheim joined the company, He was to modernise the company structure, develop extra markets and he took charge of the marketing departments. After success Olivier would become President and CEO.

In the early 1990’s Raymond Weil launched the Parsifal and the Tango two new models that were met with great appreciation from the buying public and the models helped the brand’s continued success.

Today Raymond Weil still hold their core values and offer luxury Swiss watches at an affordable price.
