Citzen Eco Drive, Moncoque case B872 H23249 TA in for capacitor, seals and a clean from Doune, Stirling.
A very unusual Eco Drive watch into the workshop today. This Citizen has a monocoque case meaning that to enter the watch you need to remove the bezel and glass and use a special technique to release the crown and stem to access the movement.
The watch was letting in moisture but as the parts are unavailable it can’t be serviced. It’s now really important we protect the inside as much as possible. We changed the bezel gasket while replacing the re-chargeable cell and tested for water resistance after to ensure the seal worked.
As you can see from the first picture there was some contamination in the watch and on the dial which we also cleaned off. One of the interesting things we liked on this particular model was the clear dial. Really gives the watch a unique look.
